Prevent Plastic Pollution

This year in 2019, Keep the Esplanade Beautiful will be campaigning for improving our natural environment starting with plastics. It is well known that plastics on the Esplanade, on our beaches, and in the ocean is a massive problem. We will be talking about what plastics are made from (oil and natural gas), why they are such an environmental hazard, how they harm wildlife and people, and most importantly what you can do to help reduce plastic pollution. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/beyond-loop-quickly-scaling-use-re-usable-packaging-all-bawari/

Butterfly Walks

The 2019 El Segundo blue butterfly flight season is approaching. Start by attending our butterfly walks, scheduled for June 29 and June 30, starting at the end of the Esplanade. You will learn how to spot this endangered butterfly and watch its behavior, for it rarely flies far from its host plant, sea-cliff buckwheat.
